THE CHORD COMPANY EXPANDS ITS TUNED ARAY TECHNOLOGY STREAMING CABLE RANGE
19th February 2015 — The Chord Company, the UK’s biggest specialist A/V cable manufacturer, has introduced two new streaming cables featuring its proprietary ARAY technology originally developed for its flagship cable range
The Anthem and Signature Tuned ARAY streaming cables will be launched at Sound and Vision The Chord Company has expanded its dedicated high-performance streaming cable range with the addition of two new Tuned ARAY technology products. Both the new Anthem Tuned ARAY streaming cable and the Signature Tuned ARAY streaming cable benefit from The Chord Company’s proprietary Tuned ARAY technology, which was originally developed for the flagship Sarum range. In recent times, however, the technology has been implemented into a wider range of products, including digital and mains cables.
The new streaming cables use a variation of the Tuned ARAY, one that has been influenced by the new Super ARAY conductor configuration that has been developed for The Chord Company’s forthcoming new flagship product line.
Anthem Tuned ARAY streaming cable
The Anthem Tuned ARAY streaming cable is a completely new design and features a brand new style of insulating material. Although The Chord Company has used gas-foamed dielectrics before, the one used in the new Anthem Tuned ARAY streaming cable is both different and particularly impressive. It uses an extremely thin internal and outer skin in combination with a gas-foamed internal.
The conductors are silver-plated copper arranged in individually shielded pairs and The Chord Company has specified the same high-quality connector that has been used on its high-end Indigo and Sarum streaming cables. The result is a streaming cable that is capable of very high-speed data transmission.
Signature Tuned ARAY streaming cable
The new Signature Tuned ARAY streaming cable uses the same dielectric and silver-plated conductors as the Anthem Tuned ARAY, and the cable configuration is the same (consisting of four separately shielded pairs of conductors) but critically, these are heavier gauge conductors with key improvements made to the density of the shielding and the overall outer shielding.
Like the Anthem, the Signature Tuned ARAY streaming cable is also fitted with the same high-performance connectors that have been used on the Indigo and Sarum streaming cables.
About Tuned ARAY
The Chord Company’s Tuned ARAY technology was originally developed for the flagship Sarum cable range, but Tuned ARAY’s reputation for producing new levels of transparency, detail, coherence and musical involvement, soon meant the technology was introduced across a wider cable range, most recently digital and streaming products and, of course, power cables.
About streaming cables
The Chord Company knows that controversy surrounds streaming cables and since launching the range, the company has worked hard to demonstrate them to people at every available opportunity. Streamed music has enormous potential and it should sound just as real, involving, emotional and moving as any other source material.
The Chord Company genuinely feels that the cable used to connect streaming systems together has a profound influence on the ultimate coherence and believability of music. In every listening test (both blind and sighted) we carried out with various streamers, the consensus from everyone taking part was that different cables produced different sounds and more importantly, some cables were preferred to others. The differences are worth talking about and certainly worth listening to.
