Yamaha today announced the company’s latest generation of RX-V Series network AV receivers – the 7.2-channel RX-V781, RX-V681 and RX-V581, as well as the 5.1-channel RX-V481 — which deliver stunning 4K Ultra HD video, incredible surround sound technologies and wireless multiroom audio.
Yamaha holds a coveted position in the AV industry, having earned its reputation as the manufacturer of the best-selling AV receivers for the past 10 years. The company raised the bar significantly last fall with the unveiling of the MusicCast wireless multiroom audio system, available on a wide and growing range of Yamaha AV receivers, speakers, sound bars, Hi-Fi gear and HTiB systems. Controlled by a simple app, MusicCast offers users easy access to a huge selection of audio content from virtually any source, including streaming music services, Internet radio stations, music files on smart devices and computers, Bluetooth® sources, as well as external sources such as a TV, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, CD and even vinyl.
The new RX-V781, RX-V681 and RX-V581 models improve upon the award-winning series’ high-quality circuit design that now harness the power of Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X™ object-based surround formats. These formats place and move sounds freely in a three-dimensional space, including overhead, as designed by the sound editor or soundtrack composer. By incorporating the latest versions in these models, Yamaha has elevated users’ cinematic experiences, enabling them to enjoy movies that incorporate stunning object-based surround sound right in their home.
The RX-V481 provides solid performance in 5.1 channel and HD Audio format decoding systems, including Dolby® True HD and DTS HD Master Audio™.
On the video side, each of these new models of AV receivers are HDCP 2.2 compliant, enabling them to work with copy protected 4K media streaming devices and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc™ players. All models support 4K Ultra HD at 60p 4:4:4 for watching content in this super high-resolution format. Equally important, the AV receivers offer high dynamic range (HDR) and BT.2020 compatibility, providing spectacular detail for both dark and bright image content, as well as provide a wide spectrum of color for 4K.
„The RX-V 81 Series offers our consumers unparalleled flexibility in feature sets, the most immersive high performance HD audio and video technologies and the freedom of wireless multiroom audio connectivity options,” said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV division, Yamaha Corporation of America. „Industry-leading innovation and must-have features are key to the RX-V Series’ best-selling success for years. Our latest 3D surround and 4K format enhancements, combined with MusicCast this year will keep these AV receivers at the front of innovation.”
Each of the new AV receivers feature Bluetooth with Compressed Music Enhancer that enables high quality wireless music playback from smartphones and tablets. Users can also stream Bluetooth out to Bluetooth-enabled devices for sound in adjacent areas.
The AV receivers also feature the Yamaha exclusive YPAO™ automatic system calibration, which uses a microphone to listen and analyze the sound of each speaker, then tunes the sound system to create the best possible listening experience in any type of room.
Moreover, with the resurgence of vinyl, the RX-V681 and RX-V781 both feature a phono input for record lovers who are looking to hear the magic of their music collection.
